"With both of our previous albums we came to the table with an overabundance of songs, from which we collectively chose with the guidance of Jake (our co-producer). The second time we did this (for Animals Are People Too) we were a little heartbroken to see more than half of our ideas (the ones that veered too far from our theme) go into the proverbial bin. And so we decided to take it upon ourselves to make an album of ‘b-sides’. The process was a bit unconventional, recording in a half constructed studio (ie. a construction zone), as well as forgoing any kind of rehearsals. We again enlisted the help of friends, and looking in on the sessions would have seemed like a bunch of microphones set up and Tom waving his arms around like a conductor. What was expected to be a collection of odds and ends ended up surprising us all and became our personal favourite album for a while. This album was never released, nor will it ever be. It was always meant to be an exclusive album for just our most devoted fans, and we’re excited that we can offer something special to only a few. You may be wondering how you can get one… If you own all three of our official releases, be it physical or digital, you are entitled to own a respective copy of The Secret Album. The physical copies of this album are limited and numbered collectors items."
